In a small country church west of Kerrville, Leonardo Da Vinci’s depiction of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ came to life. Da Vinci’s famous 15th century mural portrays the reactions of shock and dread on the faces of each disciple when he hears that one of them will betray Jesus. The final days of Jesus Christ were acted out by members of the Hunt United Methodist Church Thursday. On Thursday, Christians around the world participated in Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday services, which commemorate the washing of the disciples’ feet by Jesus, the Last Supper with the Apostles, the agony in the Garden of Gethsemane and the betrayal of Christ by Judas Iscariot. This Sunday, observant Christians will flock to local churches to remember the miracle of Easter the resurrection of Jesus.
