Illustrated edition of Ghalib’s poetry (The Hindu)(leonardo da vinci,leonardo da vinci paintings)

Thanks to the Urdu Academy of Andhra Pradesh, the work of illustrious artist, Abdul Rahman Chughtai, who beatified Ghalib’s ‘shayari’ with art, is now available after a gap of 81 years. The Urdu Academy has spent considerable time and money to acquire the book, restore and publish it afresh on glazed art paper. The attractive page make-up with forward by Sir Mohammad Iqbal, the poet of East, makes it a collector’s item. Primarily a poet of love, Ghalib’s poetry captures the dilemma of lover torn by conflicting forces of anguish and ecstasy, desire and frustration. Connoisseurs of art and poetry will surely lap up the album when it hits the stands next month.
