Former pilot from Lake Stevens shares a connection sparked by charity, love of travel (Everett Herald)(leonardo da vinci, leonardo da vinci paintings)

A retired United Airlines pilot, Brawford was flying with Mission Aviation Fellowship when he met Kamate in the West African country of Mali about seven years ago. The road that brought them to the Lake Stevens couple’s table has been long and complex, as is the relationship between Denny Brawford, 70, and 28-year-old Dieudonne Kamate. When they met in Mali about seven years ago, Brawford was flying for Mission Aviation Fellowship, which operates a fleet of planes used by Christian and humanitarian organizations for relief and ministry efforts and other work. The military took him to Africa in 1960 during the struggle for independence in the Belgian Congo.

(leonardo da vinci, leonardo da vinci paintings) Soaring Torrey Pines (Del Mar Times)

And then later this year, John Bolthouse, executive director of the La Jolla Historical Society, said he hopes a feature-length version of the documentary, shot in High Definition, will be released. In 1936, Woody Brown was the first to launch from the Torrey Pines cliffs and come back to land in the same place. Many locals wonder at the humans floating on artificial wings above Torrey Pines but do not realize what a treasure the Torrey Pines Gliderport is to the glider community. Ask gliders why they return to Torrey over and over, and they might mention how it’s unique as a city park, or that the winds are smooth and the weather is pleasant enough to fly in year round. A committee of enthusiasts and historians was then formed and the project was pursued, with Bill Liscomb, owner of LightWing Productions, producing the film - doing everything from acquiring the video and pictures, to writing the film and narrating it.
