For many centuries art has been highly valued. Ancient artists were much respected because throughout the centuries art was very important for societies. If you want to develop this amazing talent and learn how to paint, you can start by attending some lessons.
The first thing most people think of when they hear the word “art” is “painting”. Artists are among the most famous people in the world, especially those who are not still alive. There is not a person on the planet who does not know something about Picasso or Leonardo da Vinci.
They say that if you want to do something, it is enough to have just 1 percent talent and to work 99 percent hard. However, is that in force for painting? The answer- definitely not! Perhaps, that is why it is so respected.
And what we should do if we have the talent. If we do but don’t practice and work hard, there is no way we can achieve the success. There are many different techniques that anyone who wants to be an artist, should learn.
The first is the famous French technique Trompe l’oeil, which in English means “optical illusion”. With that technique you can make people think they don’t watch just a picture, but a 3D object. One of the most famous artists who use this technique is John Pugh whose most important pictures are Siete Punto Uno and Mana Nalu.
Similar to Trompe l’oeil but more simple technique is the prospective. It’s a knowledge that even the young artists gain. That method of drawing makes all objects in the picture look solid and shows their distance and depth. That way is made each 2D object in the picture.
However, the prospective can be divided into three different techniques: linear prospective, reverse prospective and a prospective containing both previous types (mixed, sophisticated). It is good to know that the reverse prospective is of a rare use in art.
Those were some basic techniques which each artist should learn. Once you could use them in your painting, you will be able to impress the viewers of your paintings.
