The Catholic League has expressed outrage over the poster for this year’s fair, which takes place on Sunday. The poster, which evokes a renowned Leonardo da Vinci painting, “The Last Supper,” shows semi-nude men and women in bondage attire seated at a table cluttered with sex toys, whips, and various restraints. After protests from the Catholic League and another conservative group, Concerned Women for America, Miller said Tuesday that it was asking to have its logo removed from the poster. The president of the Catholic League, William Donohue , said his group recently discovered that fair organizers are holding a “Last Supper With the Sisters” event to “prepare your mortal flesh for the kinkiest weekend on Earth. read more
On this occasion, a group of 10 educationalists from The Romanian American University traveled to the United Kingdom, Torquay (one of Torbay’s 3 towns), for a one week long intensive training programme. The project was successful not only from the training programme point of view, but from the perspective of strengthening the relations between the Romanian Partners and British organisations based in the county of Devon. The British representatives displayed a lot of interest in cooperating with potential new partners in Romania who work in the field of trade, production, investments, training, regional development etc. This kind of programme could be very useful for Romanian authorities and businesses who wish to learn the practicalities of establishing such a partnership whilst investigating opportunities for regional and national educational development. The Romanian side considers that the programme has substantially contributed to the University’s objectives, with a lot of aims being reached even much greater than expected. read more
When his former art teacher Roger “Superman” Betschler recently repainted his two-story home in Placid Heights, he commissioned Cardenas to paint a modified Vitruvian Man mural in a prominent spot on the front of the house. Although Cardenas is not fond of heights, he had to climb up on a scaffold and sit on a wooden board to apply his artistic skills to the front facade of the Betschler house. The two artists set up the scaffold in Betschler’s driveway and projected an outline of the art work onto the house to sketch it out before Cardenas began the actual work of art. Although many artists either starve or work other jobs to support their art as a hobby, Cardenas actually is putting his talent to work with Planit Big out of Sattler. read more
